Can I bring my dog?

The difficulty with bringing a dog is not with the camping element, it's with the other accommodations that we use, which includes the Bunkhouse accommodation - who have their own dogs (Jack Russels) and won't allow other dogs to be there, which is due to the safety of your dog (not theirs). This therefore means that we can only offer the ‘camping' element on our standard Adventure Treks with the possibility of a further camp night added on - which entails us providing an extra night's camp at the easternmost campsite (Harlow Hill - a couple of miles west of Heddon-on-the-Wall).

Dog owners should also bear in mind that the Trail at the eastern end between Heddon and Wallsend, is on a harder surface (as much of it doubles up as a cycleway) which can be difficult on dogs' paws over such a long distance.

The three options for you on an Adventure Trek with a dog are -

A. Just walk the standard Trek with the ‘Five Nights Camping' element - ie walk as far as Chesters (near to the last night's camp) and call it a day there. This would be a Trek that will have covered approximately 55 miles in five days. The cost of this option would be £159 per person (if sharing - solo supplement £10 per day, ie £50 in total) and there would be a £5 per day supplement (ie £25 in total) for the dog (as we would provide a larger tent and be transferring the dog's gear as well as yours along the Trail and we have an extra cleaning consideration for the tent on completion).

B. The same as ‘Option A.', except that you continue your walk to Heddon-on-the-Wall and we move your baggage to a point where you can collect it and make your way home from there. Baggage transfer would be £5 per bag.

C. You do a ‘Six Nights Camping' option, with your last night's camp at around the 68 mile point of the Trail. This would be £179 per person (if sharing - solo supplement £10 per day, ie £60 in total) and again a £5 per day supplement (ie £30 in total) for the dog.
